The dedication of a baby is an important event in the life of a Mennonite church. We believe that it takes an entire community to raise a child and so this service is not only the dedication of a child, but as importantly, it is the dedication of the parents, siblings and the community to the task of nurturing the child to physical and Christian maturity. Men's Banquet 1/24/2012	Erik Kratz, Phillies catcher, was the speaker

Erik shared about the joys of fulfilling his childhood dream of playing for the Phillies. And, he also shared honestly about the difficult journey in getting to the major leagues. Erik’s story is a testimony of hard work, determination, perseverance, seeking God’s direction, and trusting in Christ in the midst of life’s adversities. Erik reminded the audience that faith in Christ is the one thing that cannot be taken from us.
