Indoor Worship
December 23, 2021
Deep Run East Family,
We know that many of us have been keeping an eye on the increase in Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations in Bucks County and around the country. We want to encourage increased caution and vigilance as we worship and fellowship with one another at church. Please continue to be mindful of distance from others as we are seated in the sanctuary for worship. We know that wearing masks is a “hot button” topic, and even we, as a leadership board, are not all at the same place on masking. We recognize that the CDC continues to recommend wearing a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high community transmission, regardless of vaccination status. As a church family, our continued desire is to care for one another and to protect our broader community.
Deep Run East Pastors and Leadership Board
At its 9/14/21 meeting, Leadership Board prayerfully discussed and discerned the following plans for upcoming worship services and congregational ministries.
► We will move to indoor worship in the sanctuary on Sunday, October 10. The October 3 worship service will be the last outdoor worship service for the foreseeable future, held in the grove (weather permitting).
► For in-person worship, as well as events, activities, classes, or meetings held indoors, face coverings remain optional. However, groups (i.e. SS classes, committee meetings, ministries, other groups, etc.) are encouraged to discuss and discern their expectations on face coverings, considering the desires of their respective group.
► Worship services will be live-streamed for those who are more comfortable worshipping online rather than in-person.
► We feel that there is adequate space in the sanctuary and balcony for persons to spread out, not needing to sit in close proximity to others, if they so choose.
► We recognize that there continues to be a range of perspectives within our faith community on matters related to the pandemic, particularly in regards to face coverings. We ask each and every person to demonstrate Christian love, respect, and honor toward one another, particularly toward those who may have different perspectives than your own. May we all practice Jesus’ second greatest commandment to, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:39)
► We will continue to monitor the current Covid situation, and will inform you if there are any changes to our practices and guidelines.
If you have any questions, please contact a member of Leadership Board, or a pastor.
Worship Services will be videotaped and posted afterwards.
OTHER INDOOR GATHERINGS
For any events, activities, classes, or meetings held inside the church building, face coverings are optional. Groups (i.e. SS classes, committee meetings, other groups, etc.) are encouraged to discuss and discern their expectations on face coverings, considering the desires of their respective group.
