Vacation Bible School

Dear Parents,

We are so excited to have your children with us for a fun-filled week at our Vacation Bible School! Our program this year for preschool through grade five is, “The High Seas: Exploring the Mighty Love of God.” The theme for Junior High is “Where’s Yer Treasure.” Each day your child will enjoy music, games, snacks, Bible Lessons, crafts, and many other activities related to the lesson of the day.

Each morning at 9:00 A.M. (Tuesday - Friday) children in K-5 will be meeting their crew leader in the sanctuary while preschoolers meet their crew leaders in the basement. Children can be picked up from these same places at 12:00 noon. On Thursday, we would like to have the children stay for an extra 10 or 15 mins., until 12:10-12:15, to practice in the sanctuary for the Thursday evening program. The preschoolers will go down to the basement after practicing, so you can pick them up there.

Our mission offering this week will be split between Operation Kid-to-Kid and Big Sky Bible Camp. During craft time this week, your children will be tying blankets to send to children in Africa through Operation Kid-to-Kid (www.ok2k.org). And, in July our youth group will be traveling to Big Sky Bible Camp in Montana to help with their ministry there. We would like to help the camp buy supplies to build a water slide for the children/ youth who attend their camp (www.bigskybiblecamp.org).

This year, the Deep Run Church Boys and Girls Club will be having a bake sale immediately after Bible School on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. All money raised will go to help out the Bible School mission projects. Enjoy a yummy treat…and help out with a great cause!

On Thursday Evening, June 24, at 7:00 P.M., there will be a short Bible School Program in the sanctuary here at Deep Run East. The program will include a few songs that the children have learned this week and a video (about 10 mins.) that will include the activities your children participated in this week. After the program, there will be a time of refreshments (ice cream & cookies ?) and fellowship. (In order to plan for the amount of food we will need for Thursday evening, we have posted a sign up sheet on a piece of white cardboard in the back of the sanctuary and in the “Kid’s Café” area of the basement. Please tell us how many of your family will be attend. Thanks!)

Thank you for making it possible for your child to attend Vacation Bible School. We trust that your child will have a fun and exciting week learning more about who God is and how to seek Him in the Bible.
